My name is Maximus, Maximus Stupidus

The crowd all around were cheering. They were amazed, inspired, and awestruck by my sheer brilliance. In all their lives, they have never seen and will probably never see a man as great, as knowledgeable, as magnanimous, as gracious, as brilliant, as profound, as me.

For I lead them, lead that small bunch of hapless men, through fearsome fires and storms, through ambushes and tragedies. And here they were, looking upto me to rise once again, as their leader, the one force they believed in.

And here we were, in the midst of an infinite mass of humanity, standing up against the dark forces that pervaded, that ruled planet earth.

It was time for me to rise higher up, to take up that role, which will change the face of earth in the future.

And then I turned back, to face those dark forces.

Slowly,slowly, eyes to the ground......

Then came my moment........

Ever so slowly I raised my eyes and met their gaze, the cold, steely gaze of the dark forces and held them steady. Then, I removed that mask which I had kept on for my life, the one that had shielded me life long.

And said- " My name is Maximus, Maximus Stupidus. Commander of the .........................."
